The holiday season is now here again and that means most of us will be traveling more like it or not. I would like to pass on some ideas and thoughts of how to conserve some fuel during this holiday season. The simplest and most effective idea is to get a credit card that offers you a discount on fuel purchases, this way you are always paying less than average street price. Second try and fuel up on Wednesday I have recently read in a interesting article about fuel saving that this is typically the cheapest day of the week to tank up.

The value of planning your driving is priceless, joy riding is really not a option for most people if you want to be able to afford buy anything that is. I would caution against using any of the miracle fuel saving additives that most stores are selling, I have read the bottle(s) of over a dozen products and the cost and time of adding them hardly makes this option worth while.

One product that I personally have had excellent luck with is Slick 50 this product reduces friction which can result in increases fuel mileage. When you do your next tune up you can also check into getting a hotter plug to increase your combustion. the bottom line is a wel tuned car that is driven well will get good to excellent mileage.
